experimental, and field research on a local, regional or global basis.

The department has a graduate computer laboratory with 16 networked SUN Ultra 5 333MHz workstations that are used not only for hands-on classes and labs, but are also avaliable for geology student use on research and class projects. In addition, the department houses numerous Silicon Graphics workstations, Macintosh and PC-based microcomputers, a slidemaker, scanners, digitizing tablet/pc and a CD-burner which are available for geology student use.
