RECENT GRANTS (in the past 2 years)

  1. Definition of Trenton-Black River Prospects in the Finger Lakes Region ($75,000, NYSERDA). This project examines the fault-controlled gas reservoirs in the Finger Lakes, using seismic, remote sensing, and surface structural geology

  2. Definition of an Exploration Techniques Integrating High Resolution Hyperspectral remote Sensing Data, Soil Gas Surveys, and Fracture Intensification Domains for the determination of Subsurface Structure in NYS ($50,000, NYSERDA). This project uses i nnovative techniques, including remote sensing, structure and soil gas to define faults in the Appalachian Plateau

  3. Definition of an Exploration Techniques Integrating Earthsat’s Landsat Lineament, Soil Gas Anomalies, and Fracture Intensification Domains for the Determination of Subsurface Structure in the Bass Island Trend, NYS ($50,000, NYSERDA). This project us es innovative techniques, including remote sensing, structure and soil gas, combined with well log analyses to define faults in the Appalachian Plateau

  4. Integration of Remotely-sensed/geophysical Data with Ground-Truth Structure: Definition of a Fracture-Induced porosity prospect in Cayuga County, NYS ($75,000, NYSERDA). This project uses innovative remote sensing and structure techniques integrated with seismic to define gas prospects in the Appalachian Plateau

  5. Geologic Investigation of the Gas Potential in Eastern New York ($30,000, NYSERDA). This project combines well log analyses, seismic, Landsat lineaments, areomagnetics, and surface geology mapping to identify gas prospects

  6. Innovative Methodology for Detection of Fracture-controlled Sweet Spots in the Northern Appalachian Basin ($840,000, DOE). this project will combine advanced aeromagnetic analyses, seismic analyses, Landsat lineaments, surface structure and soil gas to define a cheaper alternative to 3-D seismic for marginal prospects in the Appalachian Basin

  7. Detailed Geological Map Incorporating Multiple Fault Systems of the Appalachian Plateau: Farmersville Township, NYS ($2,500, NY Planning Federation) This project used our innovative fracture analysis to identify faults and fracture systems in the reg ion surrounding a potential landfill site.
