Well Logs

We use well logs to confirm the reflector units found in seismic lines, and to construct structure contour maps, isopach maps, snad thickness maps (etc) for regions in the Appalchian Plateau. The most common log is the gamma ray log, which has been run on just about every well for which we have a log. Well log analysis in Sw NYS has alowed us to confirm that faults do lie beneath FIDs, and that seismically active faults do extend farther across the state than ever supposed previously.(LINK TO FIG 7 “under construction”)
