Formation of Fluvial Aquifers

Formation of Fluvial Aquifers: Fluvial surficial aquifers are usually associated with existing streams and rivers, and are therefore highly subject to contamination.  They are formed by the constant deposition of sediment eroded from the uplands.  In general, the higher the energy of transport (i.e. the greater the elevation change) the larger the particle size, and therefore the more productive the aquifer.
